About Lock Laces
Lock Laces was born in 1997, when track athlete Eric Jackson was frustrated by untied shoelaces during the game and decided to propose a solution. One day, Eric went home after practice and made the first pair of it with two bungee cords and two rope locks. When his friends kept asking him to make them a pair, he knew his solution had retail potential. The following year, Eric applied for and obtained a patent, opened a store, and began selling it. Initially, he operated his company Street Smart LLC in the basement of his mother in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2011, Eric partnered with Frank Sutton and Positive Distribution LLC to develop it into an international brand. Today, the team at Frank and Positive Distribution LLC are working hard to make Lock Laces the shoe of everyone who needs them.
