1837 Seven generations before 1837, their original textile mill opened in rural North Carolina. This factory produced some of the earliest dyed plaid fabrics in the southeastern United States, marking the beginning of their family textile journey. Over the years, Boardroom Socks has continued to adapt, and each generation has inherited the traditions of textile companies. In the 1930s, as relatives began offering luxury Japanese silk to women's stocking makers, the family's business began to shift to the international market. As the turn of the century approached, the U.S. textile industry began to decline rapidly. After the factories in Boardroom Socks are closed, they want to see a recovery in local production. From their experience working with textile professionals around the world, they find that traditional American artisans represent some of the smartest people in the industry.
