About Marcelle
Marcelle is made in Chicago by Washington Berger & Sons. In 1910, its brand name was legally registered. Its cream and lipstick are sold in American drugstores. 1933. Chicago allergy expert Dr. Phil Brazer bought it in the throes of the Great Depression. Allergic, fragrance-free Mather Moisturizing Cream, Mather Night Cream and Mather Cold Cream (now Cleansing Cream) are all formulated. They are still in production today. In 1949, Marcelle entered Canada and was distributed from coast to coast by Montreal pharmacist Victor Cape. It introduced sensitive eyes and gentle makeup remover, which soon became a popular product in pharmacies. Then it re-introduced its tinted moisturizer as a transparent tinted liquid moisturizer with a sun protection factor of 15. Today, it is still Canada's best selling colored moisturizer.
